m.Net launches 7 sites on Telstra's i-mode service

Mobile services leader m.Net Corporation has launched the first of a series of seven i-mode sites in Telstra’s new i-mode network. i-mode, which is available on Telstra’s GPRS network, enables mobile consumers to browse content-rich data services on a subscription basis. 

The service is available i-mode offers an innovative subscription model for the serpaid content sites. m.Net CEO Horden Wiltshire said that the new sites were the culmination of an intense development effort. “We have designed a specific i-mode content management and billing integration system which allows us to give our developer community and corporate clients access to Telstra’s i-mode portal environment,” Mr Wiltishire said. “i-mode has an easy-to-understand revenue model for content developers and payment method for consumers.” The seven i-mode™ sites offer music, comedy, celebrity and human-interest categories and deliver a rich range of content to consumers. They position m.Net strongly as an early proponent of new mobile phone technologies in the Australian market. “The sites build on the core principles of our Gallery 4 Innovation Program by facilitating access for our content providers and strategic partners into a key mobile content revenue channel inside Telstra’s proprietary network,” Mr Wiltshire explained. m.Net has also been selected to conduct a range of i-mode content seminars nationally in early 2005. “The seminars build on the strong ties we have with Telstra as a major shareholder, and cements our position as a leading innovator in the mobile content marketplace in Australia,” Mr Wiltshire said.
